Pudina Pulao / Mint Pulao

Pudina (Mint) Pulao is a easy to make and flavourful one pot recipe. The flavour of fresh mint along with rice makes it a delicious dish.

  
Pudina Pulao
  
 Ingredients:
  • Basmathi Rice - 1 1/2 cup
  • Onions - 1 (sliced)
  • Potato - 1 (cubed)
  • Green peas - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
To Grind:
  • Pudina leaves - 1 cup 
  • Tomato - 1/2
  • Green chillies - 2 (adjust according to the spiciness needed) 
Grind pudina, tomato and green chillies to a smooth paste.
 

Method:
  1. Soak rice 1 cup rice  : 1 and a half cup water ratio for an hour.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and saute for a minute.
  3. Add onions and saute until they are slightly brown.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell goes off.
  5. Add the ground paste and saute till raw smell of pudina goes off. 
  6. Now add potato, green peas, required salt and saute for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the rice (along with water) and stir.
  8. Allow the rice to cook in a pressure cooker or rice cooker.
  9. Remove from heat, and serve hot.
