Prawn masala

Prawn masala is a spicy, tangy flavourful recipe. In just few steps a delicious recipe can be made quickly. It goes well with Chapathi / Roti and rice as well.

Prawn Masala

  Ingredients:
  • Prawn - 300 grams ( peeled, deveined and washed)
  • Onion - 2 large (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Oil 
  • Salt to taste
 

Method:
  1. In a bowl, take 1 table spoon red chilli powder, 1/4 table spoon turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt and mix well. 
  2. Add prawn to it and mix well so that the prawn gets well coated with the powder. Allow the prawn to marinate for half an hour.
  3. Take oil in a pan, add onions and saute until they are slightly brown.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute.
  5. Add tomatoes and saute, then add remaining turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and saute until the tomatoes are soft.
  6. Allow to cook until the tomatoes becomes mushy.
  7. Finally add the marinated prawns, half cup water and stir well.
  8. Allow to cook for 5 to 7 minutes in a slow flame.
  9. Turn off heat and serve hot.
