Quick and Simple chicken gravy


This recipe is a simple and easy to cook chicken gravy which does not require any grinding and neither uses coconut. This  chicken recipe will be a easy to try recipe for beginners and goes well with rice and all Indian breads.

Simple Chicken Gravy

 Ingredients:
  • Chicken - 500 g / 1 lb
  • Onion - 1 (sliced)
  • Tomato - 2 (chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Curd - 1/4 th cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4th tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • Cloves - 3 or 4
  • Coriander leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
 

Method:
  1. Take oil in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and saute.
  2. Add onions and green chillies and saute until onions are slightly brown.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell goes off.
  4. Add tomatoes and saute, then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and saute until  the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Now add the chicken, salt and saute well for 5 minutes.
  6. Add curd and stir well, allow to boil.
  7.  Add 1/2 cup of water and allow chicken to cook well with a closed lid or pressure cook the chicken .
  8. Once the chicken is cooked add garam masala powder and allow to boil for 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
