Tomato Chutney

This recipe is a easy tomato chutney which goes well for idli , dosas, uttapams.

Tomato Chutney


Ingredients:

  • Onion - 2 (medium sized) (chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Tomato - 2 (chopped)
  • Red chillies - 3 or 4
  • Urad dhal - 1/2 tbsp
  • Channa dhal - 1/2 tbsp
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
Method:
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add channa dhal and saute, then add urad dhal and saute. 
  2. Add red chillies and saute until channa dhal and urad dhal are slightly brown.
  3. Now add the onions and garlic and saute until onions turn transparent.
  4. Add tomatoes, salt and saute until tomatoes are mushy.
  5. When the tomatoes are soft and mushy, turn off flame and allow to cool.
  6. Once the mixture is cool grind it to a smooth paste.
  7. Now tasty tomato chutney is ready.
